JOHN DEACON graduated from McGill Law School and was called to the Bar in 1977. He serves on the Condominium Cable Communications Committee making submissions to the CRTC to encourage competition for the provision of cable and satellite dish service to condominiums, and served on the Condominium Sub Committee of the Canadian Bar Association that recommend changes to the new Condominium Act, 1998. He is a frequent writer and lecturer on condominium legal matters and he has been a speaker at numerous community college condominium courses, at various regional and provincial condominium association meetings, and conferences in both Canada and the U.S.A. He is the author of "Law Lights" a regular column on legal affairs in the "Condominium Manager" magazine, and a frequent contributor to the Condo section of the Toronto Star newspaper. Mr. Deacon practices in the areas of condominium corporate law and residential real estate law. Mr. Deacon further acts as a Mediator of disputes under the Condominium Act, 1998.


MICHAEL SPEARS graduated from the University of Western Ontario Law School and was called to the Bar in 1978. He is a Certified Specialist in Civil Litigation and teaches civil litigation at the Bar Admission Course of the Law Society of Upper Canada. He practices mainly in the area of condominium litigation law including construction deficiency actions and claims before the Ontario New Home Warranty Program, the Ontario Municipal Board and the Tarion Warranty Corporation. In addition to acting for condominium corporations, Mr. Spears maintains a general litigation practice.


BLAINE FEDSON is a graduate of the University of Windsor Law School and was called to the Bar in 1984. He has over 20 years experience in both condominium corporate law and litigation. Blaine has extensive litigation experience in Tarion (Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act) claims and construction deficiency actions, and has represented clients in all levels of court in Ontario. In addition to acting for condominium corporations, Blaine maintains a general litigation practice.


ELLEN MONTIZAMBERT is a graduate of the University of British Columbia Law School and was called to the Bar in 1987. She is a frequent speaker on condominium law matters at conferences and courses in south western Ontario. She practices both condominium corporate law and condominium litigation, including first year deficit claims, construction deficiency actions, rules enforcement matters, Tarion Warranty claims and Human Rights Code complaints.

GREG MARLEY graduated from Queen's University Law School and was called to the Bar in 1998. He articled with Deacon, Spears, Fedson & Montizambert and returned to practice with the firm. He practices condominium corporate, condominium litigation and real estate law. Mr. Marley serves as a member of the Executive Council of the Canadian Bar Association.

MARKO DJURDJEVAC graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School where he was the senior editor of the Osgoode Hall Student Law Review. Marko completed his articles with Deacon, Spears, Fedson & Montizambert and was called to the Bar in 2002. He currently practises all aspects of condominium law with an emphasis on litigation, including mediation and arbitration. His litigation experience includes first-year deficit claims, condominium administrator proceedings, Tarion (Ontario New Home Warranties Plan Act) claims, construction deficiency actions, shared facilities disputes, and rules enforcement proceedings. Marko is also a Certified Arbitrator (ADR Institute of Ontario) and offers his services as mediator or arbitrator of condominium as well as construction disputes. He has written articles on legal matters for condominium publications and is editor-in-chief of the CONDOLAW.TO newsletter. Marko has appeared as a lecturer and speaker at Canadian Condominium Institute seminars.

MICHAEL CAMPBELL was called to the bar in 2007 and joined DSFM in 2009. In addition to practicing condominium law, Michael assists clients with issues relating to commercial, employment and tax law. He has represented clients in several civil disputes and appeared before the Superior Court of Justice, the Superior Court in Bankruptcy and a variety of boards and tribunals. He graduated from the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Law in 2005 and the University of Toronto in 2001.”

BORA NAM graduated from the University of Western Ontario Law School and was called to the Bar in 2009. Bora completed her articles with Deacon, Spears, Fedson & Montizambert and joined the firm as an associate in 2009. During her articling term, Bora had exposure to all areas of condominium law, particularly in condominium litigation matters.

Lien Clerk

MAXINE JORDAN is our full time condominium lien clerk working directly with condominium corporations in the timely collection of arrears of common expenses and special assessments under the new Condominium Act, 1998. Mrs. Jordan works under the supervision of Ellen Montizambert.

Real Estate

DIANE CAVALLI is our senior real estate clerk specializing in both new development and resale condominium real estate transactions. Mrs. Cavalli works directly with condominium developers in completing both interim and final closing transactions of units in new condominium projects, and she is also experienced in commercial purchase and sale and financing transactions. Mrs. Cavalli works under the direction of John Deacon.

KATHERINE HARRIS, ANNA DAUNT and PAULINE BURGHER provide experienced litigation support, assisting litigation counsel in the prosecution and defence of claims on behalf of condominium corporations
